Athletics “expecting” to announce new head football coach

Interim head coach Jody Sears speaks to media at the beginning of the 2012 season. Weber State University Athletics is “expecting to have something to announce” concerning the head football coach on Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, other local media outlets reported that Weber State University Athletics might announce the interim tag will be dropped from Jody Sears’ title as head football coach.

Paul Grua, director of athletic communications, said he could not confirm these claims on Tuesday night.

“We are expecting to have something to announce tomorrow (Wednesday),” said Grua concerning the new head football coach.

Grua also said he doesn’t think WSU Athletics will hold a press conference, but will make the announcement another way.
