WSU business school named among best in the country

The Princeton Review has named the John B. Goddard School of Business and Economics one of the best business schools in the US.

The Review conducted a survey of 19,000 students across the country, asking their opinions about the universities they attended. Students responded with answers about their experiences at their business schools. They were also asked questions about student life and academics in the survey.

The list will include 296 names of business schools, but does not rank them. The list will be published in the 2013 Princeton Review guidebook.

“It’s a testament to the quality of work that we do,” said Jeff Steagall, the dean of the college. “It’s the quality of the interaction between students and faculty.”

Steagall said one of the reasons the college won was because it has small classes compared to the size of Weber State University.

“The faculty spends extra time with (the students),” Steagall said.

Steagall also said the teachers spend time to make sure advise students and make sure they understand the subjects. He said the benefit of being on the list will be less local and more nationwide.

“People already know about us around here,” he said. “More people around the country will know.”

This is the sixth time the WSU business school has been featured in The Princeton Review. The school will have two pages in the Review, which will highlight specific aspects of the college, such as academics and admissions.
