With this past year's election, America is forever changed. Yesterday, America's first black president was inaugurated into the Presidency of the United States of America. Everywhere, people see ads, commercials, fliers and more about coverage on the Inauguration, or about the repercussions of missing the witnessing of this historical event. Billions of people across America tuned in by TV, Internet, radio, and many other forms of mass media to watch Barack Obama's Inauguration into the presidency. There are so many ads, stories and rumors floating around about what is to be expected by the American people, when they are expecting so much more from this presidency, whether it's due to the fact that he is America's first black president or if it is because of the fragile economic state the country is currently in. Regardless of anyone's political, religious, or economic beliefs in the government, we still need to remember that he was elected as America's 44th president, and we are under his leadership for the next four years. The color of his skin should not reflect his presidency. What he accomplishes in his term is what really counts. Many people are so displeased about Barack Obama being America's 44th president for many different reasons that just might be over hyped by the media. Each president has dealt with their own separate issues and hardships throughout their presidency, while still representing America. The real miracle is that America is still standing as one of the strongest nations in her glory. Regardless of which party the president claims or the color of his skin, every person who calls themselves an American should support him in maintaining our country. People can argue all they want about the president and who they feel should really be in office, but he is our president and we should respect and trust in him. This year's inaugural theme is "Renewing America's Promise." With a kick-off theme like that, America can hope to see some major changes and growth. About.com states the new inaugural theme as a promise of commitment to restoring opportunity and possibility for all and re-establishing America's standing as a beacon of hope around the world. With an inspiring theme for the future presidency, hopefully America can grow together despite beliefs and disagreements like it never has before. With the country in the state of war, and rough economic times, this is when people should really be able to have faith in their government and rely on each other for anything. There are so many conflicting beliefs about America's government in this country, but since this presidency is such a historical benchmark, America should really come together for support of the government and for one another, and we might just see an amazing change unfold before us. With the mass media pumping out so many different stories, scandals and events happening in the presidency, one has to wonder what the real truth is while stories are contradicting one another. While we may never know what that real truth holds, we should still stand together despite of differing beliefs and support this magnificent country that has outlasted so many wars, hardships and trials - and more to come.
