Midwest floodwaters have swallowed up crops and sent corn and soybean prices through the roof. This will equal higher prices at the grocery stores for more than just corn. Beef, pork, poultry, eggs, cheese, and milk are expected to rise in price because livestock owners are going out of business or being forced to slaughter more animals to cope with the rising cost of corn feed. The flood has engulfed an estimated 2 million or more acres of corn and soybean fields so far.
