Hyla is an air and room cleaning system that is used to get the dust, germs, allergens, and dead skin from the air. Particles are transferred into the water basin, which has a water tub mechanism that bubbles and has the ability to clean the air by putting the dust and germs and allergens into the water. The basin can detach from the bottom and is then used to dispose the dirt and allergens that are in the water into a toilet. Hyla takes these particles within the area of the house and purifies the air through water. There are 28 different things the Hyla can do. Business opportunities for students at Weber State University with the Hyla include working at a local office on Riverdale Road. There are several offices set up in Utah and are distributed throughout the West Coast. "Working for Hydro Air is very interesting and educational," said Nathan Werner, a WSU student. "The demo is what proves to show the Hyla works and has many benefits." He said his favorite thing about the Hyla was "preventing illnesses." Doctors go from room to room, patient after patient and don't get sick. The reason this is that they use Glycol. Glycol is in the ventilation systems and works as a deodorizer. It also kills germs and bacteria in the air. Using 1-2 capfuls of Glycol in the water will prevent germs from spreading from family member to family member. The Hyla has an open vent duct where you can insert the Glycol and it works as a fragrance carrier too to spread fresh clean air in the home. The average American spends about $100 dollars on air fresheners a year. The chemicals in air fresheners are not healthy and can cause problems. Also, candles are harmful when burning for long periods of time. The wax evaporates into the air and into the lungs. Hyla was manufactured in Europe in 1990. Owners Hartman and Filiz Gassmann founded the company in 1996. The two worked on perfecting the Hyla in Stuttgart, Germany and received feedback from customers by allowing them to test out the product in their homes and say what they liked about it and what they did not like about it. These men also worked on BMW and designed the motor to be 1.25-horse power with a 5-year warranty. They finally made the Hyla product successful in Germany and it spread to 40 other countries and is now used in the United States. Hyla is a unique name. The company chose to name the Hyla based on a tree frog named Hyla. The relevance between the two is that when water absorbs into the frog to cleanse itself, the same effect happens when the machine cleans the air. Hyla works the same way in delivering clean fresh air into the home.
